Excel or Microsoft excel is a widely used commercial spreadsheet application, that is written and distributed by Microsoft for the benefits of excel consultants in preparing reports. Being a part of Microsoft office, excel have been continuously updated and the latest version are Microsoft window 2010 and Mac OSX for 2011. Excel contains all the basic features that are generally used in preparing spreadsheets, such as grid cells for placing the data that are in form of numbers as well as letter named columns that enables you to write required information. Other basic feature includes arithmetic operation facility that can be used in data manipulation.

You can make you spreadsheet presentable by entering data in graphs, histogram or in chart format. Moreover excel also helps excel consultants in sectioning data, so that it becomes easy to view.  The visual basic applications present in the window version of excel helps you in manipulating the spreadsheet, which was impossible before. Among the various interactive features VBA enables you to hide a spreadsheet from users who are not authorized.  This is done by generating codes. An expert with proper training on excel can easily write code using the software, but the easiest way of generating code is with the use of macro recorders.

Microsoft word and Microsoft access are also very useful in preparing spreadsheet. They talk to each other and help you in inserting alphabets and numbers. Excel consultants can also access external data sources and the file automatically gets updated with the help of office data connection file format. You cannot open files in excel with the same name. If you try to do that the Microsoft will show error,  saying that document with the same  name already exists  and you cannot open an another document , even if you try to save the document in different folders with same name excel will show the error. Thus to save the file you need to close the document and rename it before you save.

Graph formatting has also been changed in the new version of excel, making the use more transparent for the excel consultants. You can easily add things required in the graph by right clicking on the graph and then choosing the required option from the drop down menu. The chart tools or design tab can be used to modify the graph. However the drop down menu for formatting will not appear if other drop down is open on the window.

The accuracy as well as the convenience of the statistical tool in excel has also been addressed in the new version. Earlier the tool was criticized for its missing data; incorrect value and selective updating of data by excel consultants.  The number system has also been changed. Earlier excel had fifteen figures; however you could add more number to it on request, but finally it showed some error. Now the excel involves an amalgam of truncations and conversions between binary and decimal representation of numbers, this facility ensured accuracy
